White House ends silence on UFOs and ETs with rejection of PRG Disclosure Petition

The White House Rejects ET Petition

Toronto [ZNN] The White House has broken a 64 year old silence on the UFO/ET matter by publicly and summarily dismissing the Paradigm Research Group Disclosure Petition I - stating there is no credible evidence of an ET presence engaging the planet.

It is important to note that this is the first time the White House has made any formal statement on the UFO/ET issue. This precedent is what many UFO/ET enthusiasts have been waiting for for decades.

More importantly, by responding formally many UFO analysts feel the White House has not simply recognized that over 17,000 individuals signed petitions demanding action to acknowledge the UFO/ET issue but the Obama administration has now opened the door to a wider public discourse on the reality of the UFO phenomenon and the mountain of evidence supporting this reality.

The White House Statement
In a statement by Phil Larson of the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) he said in part, "The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race. In addition, there is no credible information to suggest that any evidence is being hidden from the public's eye."

In response PRG Executive Director Stephen G. Bassett has filed Disclosure Petition II demanding that the Obama administration investigate UFO Disclosure efforts during the Clinton administration between the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and billionaire and Clinton friend, Laurance S. Rockefeller.

Did the White House ever examine UFO/ETI information before?
Letters uncovered in a FOIA request by Canadian researcher Grant Cameron show that White House Science Advisor to the President, Dr. Jack Gibbons discussed the UFO extraterrestrial issue as far back as 1993 with billionaire philanthropist Laurance S. Rockefeller, his solicitor Henry Diamond and other White House officials. These correspondences are now in the public domain but remain un-investigated by the press.

In examining these correspondence, ZlandCommunications has learned that one letter from Mr. Rockefeller to President Bill Clinton indicated Mr. Rockefeller had somehow been made aware that substantial information on UFOs and ETI had been 'unnecessarily withheld from the public'.

The letter*, from Mr. Rockefeller to President Clinton is entitled: 'Lifting the Secrecy on Information About Extraterrestrial Intelligence as part of the Current Classification Review.'

Laurance S. Rockefeller Letter to President Clinton

[Ed. Note: Speculation around how Rockefeller knew information was being withheld is uncertain - however it would not be the first time international or domestic sources of insider information among influential families have been pried loose.]

ZNN has also learned from another letter by Laurance S. Rockefeller to the Science Advisor to President Clinton, Dr. Jack Gibbons that:

At least one meeting was convened to discuss UFOs and extraterrestrial intelligence.
From that meeting Laurance Rockefeller learned Dr. Gibbons had not been advised of a 'body of knowledge on UFOs and ETI... is being withheld from the public'.
According to Dr. Gibbons, it would be 'most fruitful' for Rockefeller to seek out UFO/ETI information from the Department of Defense and,
A letter* from Laurance S. Rockefeller to President Clinton was crafted to request the President re-assess government policy on UFO/ETI information.

Surprisingly in his statement of 'no evidence', Mr. Larson avoided any mention of White House or OSTP information about UFO or extraterrestrial intelligence disclosure efforts in previous administrations; nor has any of this information ever been made available to the press by the White House.

Despite Mr. Larson's statement that, "...no credible information to suggest that any evidence is being hidden from the public's eye.", some research analysts remain convinced these correspondences were purposefully sequestered until Mr. Cameron's FOIA request brought them to light.

Toronto Radio Interview

During an interview on Toronto's AM 740 Radio on Sunday Nov 27, PRG Executive Director Stephen G. Bassett, indicated the position of 'no credible evidence' taken by the OSTP is not only fallacious but indefensible.

Mr. Bassett and other researchers in the the UFO/ET Disclosure movement point to a massive compendium of other government documents, witness testimony and admissions as well as notarized documents by former high ranking military officials clearly indicating that the UFO/ET phenomenon has been discussed, analyzed, assessed and sequestered at the highest levels of governance and military authority on the planet.

In its own search, ZlandCommunications has discovered that in addition to the Rockefeller letters, other relevant documents and notarized military witness testimony supporting the existence of UFOs and an ET presence are readily available to the press, the public and all government officials. According to Mr. Bassett, the UFO/ET research community remains adamant that this credible information and former military officers' witness testimony is more than adequate to call an immediate Congressional Hearing.

The question remains - Why has the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) not done its due diligence in acquiring these documents and testimony, examining them and moving forward with an investigation?

Disclosure Petition II

In response to the OSTP's rejection of Disclosure Petition I , PRG has filed a second petition exhorting the White House to look into its own records - those of the Clinton administration which clearly show the White House and the OSTP did indeed engage in discussions and correspondence about the extraterrestrial matter with philanthropist Laurance S. Rockefeller beginning in 1993.

Disclosure Petition II states:

"We petition the Obama Administration to demand a full congressional investigation of UFO/ET Disclosure efforts by the Clinton OSTP - the Rockefeller Initiative."

The petition goes on to say, "In response to the Disclosure Petition I, the OSTP stated, 'The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race.

If true, what was the OSTP investigating from March 1993 to October 1996 in concert with billionaire and Clinton friend, Laurance Rockefeller?

Those who knew of and have not spoken publicly of this initiative include: Bill Clinton, Sec. of State Hillary Clinton, Obama transition co-chair John Podesta, Sec. of Defense Leon Panetta, Dr. John Gibbons, Albert Gore and Governor Bill Richardson."

Is the White House suppressing evidence?

As the result of Mr. Cameron's confirmation that during the Clinton administration - the White House and OSTP under Dr. Jack Gibbons were indeed in discussions with Laurance S. Rockefeller about the UFO/ET matter - and in combination with the refusal by White House and OSTP to acknowledge this information as evidence, three very disturbing possibilities emerge:

The OSTP's response is yet another blueprint for the current 64 year-old UFO/ET cover-up,
The OSTP along with the White House are completely out of touch with their own intelligence networks, record keeping and infrastructure or,
The White House and the OSTP may be complicit in the suppression of evidence.

This last point raises serious judicial as well as constitutional questions.

Congressional Investigation now an imperative

It now appears that the White House and the current OSTP staff have placed themselves in the very awkward political position. The White House must not only admit the Clinton/Rockefeller letters exist, but it must also concede the Rockefeller Initiative correspondences do constitute proof that multiple members of the Clinton administration White House staff and the Office of Science and Technology Policy were involved in discussions concerning UFOs and extraterrestrials.
[Ed. Note: John Podesta, President Clinton's Chief of Staff at the time was clearly aware of this situation. So much so that later in 2002 he came forward at the National Press Club in Washington DC to challenge government secrecy on UFOs. This evidence, in the opinion of many researchers, eliminates any reasonable doubt that the US government had and still maintains a policy of secrecy and denial regarding information about the UFO/ET issue. The continued refusal by the White House to discuss the matter openly or to volunteer any information to the press or the public is yet another indication of a cover-up.

On this basis alone - a public investigation into Rockefeller Initiative letters and Clinton's role appears not only mandatory but a judicial and congressional imperative.

Conclusion - Journalists must act
One can only conclude that, if allowed to go unscrutinized by the press, the continued White House policy of denial and silence and the long-proclaimed call for transparency by the Obama administration will be seen for what is it - nothing more than a disingenuous facade.

In the fractious and hyper-frenetic election campaign towards the Presidency, it seems fair to ask - If the Obama administration remains unchallenged by the press on this matter, will the administration ever allow any open discussion about White House involvement with Mr. Rockefeller and the extraterrestrial issue? adding additional gravitas to the suppression of evidence rivaled only by the Nixon administration between 1972 and 1974.

In the event PRG's Disclosure Petition II reaches the mandatory 25,000 signatures by month's end, the White House will have to put its mouth where its mandate is... investigate according to the mandate of the "We the People" petition process; placing a large spotlight on the slowly crumbling wall of secrecy it orchestrated some 64 years ago. Will the press then close ranks to take on the White House?

Even without the success of PRG's petition to examine the Rockefeller Initiative, it is clear the mainstream press has a fiduciary responsibility to bring this matter to forefront of news - forcing accountability onto the highest office in USA.

What are the chances? Some say 'slim to none' given the alarming and hermetically sealed power and influence of the White House and its intelligence infrastructure.

Others believe there really are journalists out there who have the capacity to create another Watergate - just when we need it most.

Toronto - [ZNN] – Wall Street may be occupied but the prestigious Wall Street Journal is indeed ‘occupied’ by matters of the Extraterrestrial kind.

The Wall Street Journal,

America

’s esteemed and largest selling newspaper by circulation has made a daring editorial decision to cover the We the People Petition to the White House to acknowledge an ET presence now engaging the planet.

In light of a precedent setting on-line article by WSJ journalist Laura Meckler, there appears to be an unambiguous move by the ownership of the WSJ [News Corporation] to expose what the government may be withholding about the matter of extraterrestrials.

Her article may represent the first real attempt in contemporary mainstream journalism to expose the US government’s wall of secrecy around the UFO/ET issue and reveal the powerful political and national security implications of the UFO/ET issue.

Meckler wrote: “When the White House promised to answer citizen petitions on the most pressing problems of the day, it may not have had extraterrestrial life in mind.”

In Meckler’s interview with Stephen G. Bassett – sponsor of the ET petition, Bassett said: "The fact is that there is an extraterrestrial presence. I know this because I'm familiar with the research and a couple of hundred government witnesses have come forward in the last couple of years. Acknowledging this E.T. presence is about open government."

Yet many still ask:

Might the government be asking for trouble by allowing this petition to move into the White House and perhaps onto the desk of the President of the United States?
Will this bold effort by the WSJ be thwarted by a political ‘end-run’ to eliminate any public discourse about government secrecy surrounding an extraterrestrial presence that might underscore the serious political and national security implications of America’s inability to control what is occurring in the airspace said to be dominated by their Air Force?
And - why has a US Congressman decided not to reveal national security information in his possession about ICBMs being compromised by craft of unknown origin over American nuclear installations?

This precarious set of escalating questions presents a Pandora’s Box to the White House and the many intell-agencies that manage the truth embargo – one they will not want to open.

Meckler has also established that White House petition officials are bound by the terms of petition guidelines to consider those that reach 5,000 signatures. The ET petition has more than qualified.

To date the ET petition has accumulated over 11,568 signatures and ranks 20th in over-all petitions.

Meckler Questions White House Officials
In the article, Meckler wrote: “Asked which official or agency would tackle the E.T. question, Mr. Phillips [director of digital strategy at the White House] said it would be decided at a meeting the next day. Asked after the meeting who drew the assignment, a spokesman said they wouldn't be commenting until the official response is ready.What about that truth embargo? ‘You're going to have to wait,’ Mr. Phillips said."

Political psycho-babble or clear intention to move a long a continuum of truth?

A spokesperson for an international UFO Disclosure group told ZlandCommunications, "In secret vaults, scores of government documents have been uncovered by a world-wide network of researchers leaving no doubt whatsoever - the UFO/ET matter has been discussed at the highest levels of governance for over 60 years – not only in the USA but in other major G20 countries. Who is Next?
In the USA, local CBS, NBC and ABC affiliates and larger mainstream news organizations like Fox News, CNN and the History Channel are picking up on UFO sighting reports. Does this graduated and escalating form of coverage reveal a trend in wider and more intense exposure of the UFO/ET issue?

Now that the Wall Street Journal has stepped forward - it remains to be seen which other mainstream news outlet might be next to press the White House for answers to sensitive political and national security questions behind the intense governmental secrecy concerning UFOs. Or, will government find a way to bury the massive on-line and print circulation coverage by the Wall Street Journal of the ET matter and purge this politically explosive yet burgeoning petition from the democratic process?

One can only surmise that if the venerated Wall Street Journal has taken on the political implications of the UFO/ET issue, will American television's most prestigious and popular investigative news program, 60 Minutes on CBS be next to take up the gauntlet?

Congressman in Possession of UFO/ET Affidavits
Republican Congressman Peter King. As reported in March 2011 by ZlandCommunications, Congressman Peter King – Chair of the House Homeland Security Committee – already has in his possession sufficient national security information about the UFO/ET issue to put the White House Petition over the 25,000 mark.

Seven notarized documents by former ranking military officers concerning unauthorized incursions over nuclear installations and missile shut-downs by craft of unknown origin were sent to the Congressman in December 2010 by ZlandCommunications.

These craft - according to affidavits by base launch commanders - were responsible for disabling dozens of ICBMs.

ZlandCommunications is unaware if Congressman King or any of his constituents have signed the White House ET petition or if King has made any attempt to bring these documents to the attention of the President, Congress or the Homeland Security Committee which he chairs.

Congressman Peter King sits on critical National Security Intelligence - about U.S. Nuclear Missile Shut-downs and Rendlesham Forest Incident

Press Release Exclusive Revised Edition - For Immediate Release

Toronto - March 2, 2011 - Captain Robert Salas USAF (Ret.) stunned a recent Los Angeles press conference by indicating that he and two other principals have faxed New York State Congressman Peter King - Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security complete details, including signed affidavits and other intelligence, verifying how and when United States nuclear missiles have been compromised.

In March of 1967 ten nuclear missiles were shut-down (rendered to a 'no-go' status) after a craft of unknown origin breached the air-space over Malmstrom AFB in Montana. It hovered over the nuclear installation in plain sight of security police.

King, also a member of the House Intelligence Committee, has been in possession of this national security intelligence since December 17, 2010. No public statements or postings on King's web site have been issued on this matter.

According to Captain Salas, he and two other principals involved in providing Congressman King with this intelligence continue to wait for a response from King.

What Information Does King have?

Congressman Peter King is in possession of all notarized affidavits of each of the seven USAF officers who encountered UFO incursions over nuclear installations in the USA and UK. This includes the affidavit of former Col. Charles Halt describing his encounter with craft of unknown origin during the December 1980 Bentwaters/Rendlesham incident.

ZlandCommunications has since learned that documents on the UK Rendlesham event have been 'lost' - omitted from the UK's March 2011 release of some 8500 UFO files - adding further national security significance to Col. Halt's affidavit now in King's possession.

The Incidents

In 1967 as a Deputy Missile Combat Crew Commander (DMCCC) at Malmstrom AFB in Montana, Captain Salas told of how he came to witness the unexplained shut-down of ten ICBM nuclear missiles after his security team reported to him the presence of a large red glowing object hovering over the base perimeter in March of 1967.

Six other USAF officers experienced similar national security breaches in subsequent years at other nuclear installations in the USA and UK. Their signed and notarized affidavits to this effect are reported to have been unveiled at Columbia Pictures press conference February 23rd 2011 in LA as well as at a press conference at the Washington Press Club September 27, 2010.

According to USAF Captain Robert Salas (Ret.) and the other six officers, the compromising of US nuclear weapons by unauthorized means – cannot be described as or considered anything else but a severe threat to US national security - especially when the cause of the breaches were ostensibly triggered by craft of unknown origin.

Explosive Political Backdrop

Based on interviews with Salas, his statements at the LA press conference and the authority of primary sources, one of whom is a Catholic priest residing in New York State, ZlandCommunications has learned that not only has this national security intelligence been sent to Congressman King and receipt of it acknowledged by his staff; this vital national security intelligence from United States Air Force officers (i.e. affidavits and event summaries concerning nuclear missile shut-downs) has been in the possession of Homeland Security Chair, Congressman Peter King since December 17, 2010 – some ten (10) weeks ago. (Note: ZlandCommunications at this time has been directed to withhold the identity of the Catholic priest involved.)

It is worthy of note that in the intelligence information faxed to King on December 17, 2010, Captain Salas indicated his willingness to personally meet with Congressman King to review and assess all of the intelligence and support materials.

In a December 17, 2010 e-mail to ZlandCommunications from Ms. Michele Ingwersen, Congressman Peter King's Legislative Assistant and Scheduler, Ms. Ingwersen wrote, “We have received your faxes and will show them to Congressman King. Thank you.”

After several weeks, to clarify why no response had yet been sent to Captain Salas or to the letters of the other principals, ZlandCommunications engaged in several telephone conversations in January and February of 2011 with Ms. Ingwersen.

The repeated response to ZlandCommunications from Ms. Ingwersen was that she had passed the information to the Congressman however no other assistance was provided by Ms. Ingwersen. The Congressman's office staff has consistently refused to elaborate on the status of this vital national security intelligence within the House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security, despite questions posed to them by ZlandCommunications.

E-mails to, as well as calls and voice messages seeking clarification concerning this matter left for Mr. Kevin Fogarty, Congressman King's Chief of Staff and media liaison were met with no response.

Summary

While Congressman King has been a leader in the ongoing effort to have Homeland Security funding based on threat analysis and is a strong supporter of the war against international terrorism, both at home and abroad as Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, Congressman King has neither responded to nor has he yet taken a public position on the critical national security implications of compromised nuclear missiles on American soil by unknown forces as notarized by former United States Air Force officers Captain Robert Salas, Charles I. CBC Television in Canada covers US Nuclear Missiles Compromised by UFOs – According to ranking USAF officers

Toronto - (ZNN) The CBC (the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) Canada’s national public broadcasting television network has taken the first steps to engage the national security implications of American nuclear missiles being shut-down by so-called UFOs.

Highly disquieting news about nuclear missile shut-downs was aired by CBC’s CONNECT hosted by Mark Kelley on Tuesday September 28, 2010 on CBC TV Newsworld during an interview with US Air Force Capt. Robert Salas (Ret.) following Salas’ news conference held on Sept 27, 2010 at the National Press Club in Washington DC.

Both, at the Washington press conference, and with CBC’s Mark Kelley, Capt. Salas stated that incidents of US nuclear missiles being shut-down by UFOs (rendered to a ‘no-go’ status) have occurred at a number of nuclear installations in the United States.

Despite the US Air Force’s unrelenting position that UFOs do not pose a national security threat to the US, Salas – in deference to the Air Force position, indicated that the unauthorized shut-down of any nuclear weapon by unknown forces was in fact a national security issue.

Salas and researcher Robert Hastings assembled 7 US officers who provided public testimony about their direct experiences with missile shut-downs as well as ‘visits’ by craft of unknown origin at a nuclear base in the UK (Rendlesham).

Mark Kelley also interviewed acclaimed Canadian radio commentator Richard Syrett of Radio AM 740 who hosts his own radio program on the matter of UFOs. Syrett indicated that this story and the wider issue of UFOs is the biggest story in human history – and – it’s being ignored by mainstream media.

NORAD and USAF Inquiries by ZlandCommunications
In an attempt to obtain further clarity from defence officials on this potentially volatile situation, ZlandCommunications contacted NORAD (the North American Aerospace Defense Command).

NORAD Media Relations Naval officer Lt. Desmond James indicated that they were aware of the press conference, however because this was an American asset issue, he pointed ZlandCommunications to the United States Air Force web site http://www.af.mil/ to obtain, which turned out to be, a simple and generic statement about UFOs on its Fact Sheet – Project Blue Book.

In further conversation with another American NORAD Public Affairs representative, he indicated NORAD has “no public comment on this matter”.

When contacted by ZlandCommunications, Vicky Stein of the US Air Force Public Affairs Office stated there is no comment on this matter beyond the US Air Force FACT SHEET on its web site.

This fact sheet – available at the Air Force web site – quotes the generally considered flawed and out-dated study at the University of Colorado from 1968 entitled, “Scientific Study of Unidentified Flying Objects” as the American Air Force’s sole, governmental and military explanation for nuclear missile shut-downs in the modern era.

When asked by ZlandCommunications if this non-referenced and clearly out-dated explanation on UFO incursions on nuclear weapons sites was all the authoritative and powerful United States Air Force had on this matter their response was, “Yes”.

Carl Sagan knew UFOs are real - confidant reveals
But Sagan kept his viewpoint quiet to avoid losing academic funding

ZNN - Renowned astronomer and astrophysicist Dr. Carl Sagan revealed to Dr. J. Allen Hynek that he believed UFOs were real but avoided any public statements to prevent the loss of academic research funding. Sagan's once powerful influence on mainstream science to play-down the reality of UFOs is now in question.

In an interview with research journalist and author Paola Leopizzi-Harris she told ZlandCommunications:

“My recollection is that Hynek said it was backstage of one of the many Johnny Carson Tonight shows Sagan did. He basically said [to Hynek] in 1984, ‘I know UFOs are real, but I would not risk my research [College] funding, as you do, to talk openly about them in public.’' "

This startling revelation about Carl Sagan, one of this century’s most esteemed scientists and writers, has now been made public by Paola Leopizzi-Harris, a former associate of Dr. Allen J. Hynek who worked with him from 1980 to 1985.

Dr. J. Allen Hynek served as a civilian scientific consultant to the U.S. Air Force Project Blue Book from 1952 to1969, initially taking a very critical and skeptical position on anything related to the reality of UFOs. In one of his own reports he stated:

"I had started out as an outright 'debunker,' taking great joy in cracking what seemed at first to be puzzling cases. I was the arch-enemy of those 'flying saucer groups and enthusiasts' who very dearly wanted UFOs to be interplanetary.” Hynek, J. Allen. "The Hynek UFO Report". Dell Publishing Co. 1977

After leaving Project Blue Book - the U.S. Air Force’s pseudo-investigatory public relations scheme on UFOs, Hynek later wrote:

"Now, however, documentation which puts the UFO- U.S. government controversy in quite a new light has become available. The [UFO] authors have made revealing use of documents released through the mechanism of the Freedom of Information Act and other data which have been made available to them… which show that the CIA and NSA protestations of innocence and lack of interest in UFOs are nothing short of prevarication."

Hynek went on to say: "For the government to continue to maintain that UFOs are nonexistent in the face of the documents already released and of other cogent evidence presented in this book is puerile and in a sense an insult to the American people." "The UFO Cover-Up." (Fireside books, Simon & Schuster 1984)

Hynek’s credentials are indeed impressive, having consulted on the Stephen Spielberg movie Close Encounters. As well he presented a paper on UFOs at the UN in 1978. (All Experts)

Sagan’s link to UFOs and possibly to Dr. Hynek occurred in 1966 when Sagan was a member of the Ad Hoc Committee to Review Project Blue Book. This committee concluded that the U.S. Air Force's Project Blue Book had been lacking as a scientific study, and recommended a university-based project to give the UFO phenomenon closer scientific scrutiny.

In scientific circles much of Sagan’s notoriety came from debates conducted under the auspices of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). In 1969 he challenged J. Allen Hynek on whether investigations of unidentified flying objects should be considered serious. Hynek argued yes Sagan no. (NNDB)

Sagan was a prolific writer of some 20 books including Contact – eventually made into a movie staring Jodie Foster. Sagan also hosted the brilliantly crafted and highly popular series COSMOS: A Personal Voyage. In Episode 12: “Encyclopedia Galactica”, Sagan explored UFOs and alien abductions while also including ‘refutations’ on UFOs.

In a statement at the 1968 Congressional Hearings before the House Committee on Science and Astronautics - U.S. House of Representatives Carl Sagan stated:

“As I understand what the committee would like from me, is a discussion of the likelihood of intelligent extraterrestrial life… clearly it is the hypothesis that unidentified objects are of extraterrestrial origin which the committee must have in mind. I'm delighted to tell about contemporary scientific thinking along these lines, but let me begin by saying that I do not think the evidence is at all persuasive, that UFO's are of intelligent extraterrestrial origin...”

Sagan’s confidential conversation with Dr. Hynek in 1984 appears to not only contradict this statement to the House Committee in 1968, Sagan’s new found view - that UFOs were real - clearly did not play any role in Sagan’s later highly successful public work.

This revelation by Paola Leopizzi-Harris appears to raise serious scientific discrepancies concerning Sagan’s public verses private beliefs about the nature of UFOs and Extraterrestrial life.

It appears, therefore that Carl Sagan presumably embarked upon his many television appearances, consulting on major television and Hollywood feature productions as well as his own academic writing while professing one public scientific point of view, yet maintaining a significantly contradictory personal belief – “I know UFOs are real…” as told to Dr. J. Allen Hynek in 1984 according to Paola Leopizzi-Harris.

In later years Sagan also heavily promoted SETI - the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, which discounts UFOs as an ET reality - advancing the theory that listening for signals from deep space may help locate intelligent ET civilizations. [Ed.note - SETI officials were contacted by ZlandCommunications for a comment on this matter – however at the time of publication no response had yet been received.]

It is unknown how long Sagan held this personal view or when and what changed his mind – future disclosures may reveal this. That Sagan presented much of his finest and most popular work outside the context of his personal belief that UFOs were real remains a salient incongruity for a man of Sagan’s stature, obvious integrity and celebratory contributions to humanity and science.

One can only speculate upon why, during the period between Sagan’s initial statement in 1968 and all during his now legendary writings and media productions, Sagan continued to espouse critical views on the reality of UFOs. Why did his views change so dramatically? Did funding issues alone motivate him not to come forward publicly to declare his change-of-mind?

This revelation made to Paola Leopizzi-Harris by a well-respected scientific figure like Dr. J. Allen Hynek alters if not the magnificent quality of Sagan’s work but re-constructs his considerable scientific influence on the mainstream scientific theories about the universe, the intelligent nature of UFOs and Extraterrestrial life.

How will mainstream science respond knowing now that a corner stone of modern science and one of its most revered members is now recognized as to have conceded - UFOs are real?

Two conclusions emerge -

One of the 20th Century’s most renowned space gurus and scientific leaders, appears to have inadvertently shattered the prevailing notion among the scientific community and the so-called experts, that UFOs are fictitious and that issue is does not merit further study.

The second conclusion - short of full disclosure by government of the UFO/ET reality, this revelation most assuredly represents the most serious damage yet to the wall of secrecy and the truth embargo surrounding the Extraterrestrial presence so ardently maintained by government officials and bolstered by mainstream science.

Notably this information also comes at a time when Paul Hellyer, former Canadian Minister of National Defence has publicly admonished another pillar of mainstream science, Professor Stephen Hawking, for contributing to misinformation about advanced Extraterrestrial civilizations. Hellyer’s admonishment is timely. It puts all scientists on notice that ponderous changes to their entrenched belief about the universe and Extraterrestrial life are about to occur.

The Sagan story also arrives on the eve of the X-Conference 2010 – the largest annual American UFO/ET Disclosure event coordinated by Stephen G. Bassett Director of PRG - the Paradigm Research Group at the National Press Club in Washington DC, just down the street from the White House and a President that recognizes the need for grave global change.

When asked to comment PRG Director Stephen G. Bassett said,

“Carl Sagan and J. Allen Hynek perfectly represent the intellectual and political dilemma faced by the human race during the second half of the 20th century. Both helped to radically change our view of the world… Yet one must be profoundly wrong on the most important historical event in human history.”

Ironically, a cloistered conversation between to academicians behind the curtain - backstage on the set of the Johnny Carson Show in 1984 seems to have changed science and with it, the paradigm beliefs of an entire planet – we are not alone.

A Disclosure Mandate -
ZlandCommunications News Network Fills a Void

What is going on in our skies that we’re not being told about and who is demanding answers?

The surge in converging lines of evidence with respect to:

Declassified government documents,
Escalating pilot and radar reports,
Testimony by former high ranking military and intelligence officers, and
Double-digit percentage increases in citizen reports of UFOs

- indicates a world-wide phenomenon is occurring.

However, this surge of interest and the concern it engenders has been side-stepped by the very institution that should be demanding answers: The MAINSTREAM MEDIA.

It appears no other news agency is willing or capable of negotiating the world-wide distribution of this geo-political news. ZlandCommunications is therefore in the process of broadening and intensifying its mandate and coverage of the UFO/ET phenomenon into international news venues.

While providing a wide-ranging flow of the complex and highly politicized evidence and communication to world-wide news agencies on the UFO/ET issue, this sustained effort will focus on factual components of the issue as well as a current and historical analysis of this subject matter.

ZlandCommunications’ mission is to bring this evidentiary news to the larger world media stage. A New Worldview Emerges as G8 Countries Release their X-Files

The traditional worldview of a lonely planet inhabited by homosapiens is being disrupted and assertively challenged by a new generation of researcher-scientists... and, their political impact is becoming mercurial. A new worldview is emerging, one that declares - 'We are not alone in a universe teeming with life.'

This once speculative field of study is now the fastest growing de facto political issue facing the planet. The pressure exerted by this burgeoning generation of professional academics, scientists, activists and writers has resulted in an event that has never happened before - governments giving way, in some quarters - to speak the truth.

This has become evident with the recent moves by a number of G8 countries, led by the UK, France and Canada and other jurisdictions like Brazil, Denmark and soon New Zealand, who have released well over 20,000 once very secret government UFO X-files into the public domain.

This significant occurrence towards a politically measured form of international Disclosure should neither be underestimated nor considered inconsequential. A full public acknowledgement and engagement by media and elected government officials of the UFO/ET matter and the secrecy surrounding it, still remains the key missing piece of a large and complex puzzle.

Although many in the media and government may see these G8 releases of UFO files as a reduction in government secrecy – this may not be quite the case - only one piece of the larger puzzle. The political and national security implications and the high levels of secrecy implicit in these file releases by international government and military officials continue to receive absolutely no investigative coverage by mainstream media in North America or internationally. When this piece of the puzzle is forged, the entire picture will become more complete.

Some journalists and news agencies are beginning to see this lack of coverage by mainstream media as a function of media control or an ambivalent reluctance to deal with the fact that thousands upon thousands of G8 government X-files are now public and little, if anything, is being said about it. Mainstream media's opportunity to break the biggest story in human history appears to have been left at the doorstep, while the world-wide network of researchers on the UFO/ET matter has seized the threshold of opportunity.

As part of this research network, ZlandCommunications has comprehensive access to the players and the evidentiary documentation required to unequivocally demonstrate this issue reaches inside and beyond the White House, into the Pentagon, NATO, NASA, the United Nations and other international governmental agencies.

Many unanswered questions remain. Luckily, an increasing number of inquisitive and politically astute journalists are in fact beginning to wonder - What is going on in our skies that we’re not being told about and where do I go to get answers?

What is Actually Occurring?

It is the position of ZlandCommunications that countries that have released their UFO files are coalescing to bring to light not merely the large number of international UFO reports, but to initiate an international dialogue leading to a full investigation of government secrecy and concealment lead by the United States of America on all matters related to UFOs and their origin. Major media has yet to grasp this nuance.

These countries have broken ranks with the American policy of control, domination and sequestration of all matters relating to government UFO secrecy. This will soon relinquish the American strangle-hold on the UFO matter allowing more and more journalists to ignore the ridicule, derision and in some cases intimidation associated with responsible coverage of this matter. They will soon engage it fully, become much more probative and far less tolerant of the stock-government-answers to the UFO question.

Many mainstream news organizations not only continue to dismiss the serious national security and geo-political implications of the UFO phenomenon, these organizations also remain unwilling to raise two fundamental questions:

a) Why have these files been kept secret for over 60 years? and

b) Why has the United States government not joined other G8 countries in releasing their UFO files despite the call by the Barack Obama administration for more transparency in government?

A New Editorial Vision
Many in the UFO research community find it puzzling how familiar issues such as alleged political fraud, climate change, financial impropriety, military torture, inappropriate behaviour by politicians, celebrities and athletic icons and terrorism – even with dubious documentation – continue to receive the all out attention of the media.

Yet, despite the massive national security implications, no thorough 21st century public examination of government secrecy surrounding the vast vault of legitimate documentation on the UFO/ET question has ever been conducted by any major news organization. It is the position of ZlandCommunications that this resistance is about to change dramatically as the result of more and more countries coming forward to break ranks with the US policy of silence and government secrecy on the UFO question as it becomes a story that simply will not go away.

b) Why has there been staunch, historical and unrelenting government secrecy and silence surrounding this issue for over six decades if the government position is that UFOs do not exist or they are weather balloons, weather anomalies, the planet Venus, meteors or mis-identifications? This is hardly a strong basis for top level secrecy classifications of files for 60 years. Finally and of great import,

c) Constitutionally, democratic governments have always been given the right to keep secrets, however they have never been given the right to lie to their citizens.

The White House Connection
Finally for your consideration it may be worth pursuing what is considered by many to be the most significant government-insider statement on government secrecy in the modern era. Based on this public statement alone, although much more testimony exists, a fundamentally penetrating press investigation could begin tomorrow.

John Podesta – former White House Chief of Staff from 1998 to 2001 and later the Co-Chair of the Barack Obama White House Transition Team stated the following in 2002 at the National Press Club in Washington DC:

BBC News follows the UK’s new release of UFO files
But government UFO Secrecy still unresolved

Toronto, Ontario, Canada, February 18, 2010 – (ZNN) Despite an earlier announcement that the UK would be closing its Ministry of Defence UFO Bureau, the UK government has chosen to release another huge batch of UFO files. The BBC – in its report today indicates that “The eight released files are part of almost 200 files set to be made available over the next four years.”

The release of these files appears to be part of a world-wide ‘soft-disclosure’ process involving other governments like France, Brazil, Denmark, Canada and soon New Zealand – each of whom have released thousands of UFO related files. But is this enough?

Several questions remain unanswered. A global network of UFO experts will continue to ask whether or not these craft represent radar-trackings of unauthorized intrusions into sovereign airspace by craft from an unknown foreign or domestic military or corporate entity.

Do these craft represent a display of new and exotic terrestrial technology? Are these new exotic technologies a mere modern day smoke-screen to explain away authentic off-world craft?

Moreover, why is this course of action a 4 year and unnecessarily protracted process?

Even larger questions loom.

The release of UFO files is, by all accounts an interesting public media diversion – revealing that people are actually seeing odd craft in the sky that defy description. Judging by the thousands of UFO files released this has been occurring for decades.

However - the seemingly impregnable wall of government secrecy about the origin of these craft remains in place and is actually a fallow yet exceedingly fertile journalistic landscape that just may seed the biggest story in history.

During an interview today a spokesperson from Exopolitics Canada, a leading Canadian investigative body on UFO Disclosure put it this way to ZlandCommunications:

“Irrespective of this massive dump of UFO files into the public domain by the UK and the interesting coverage by the BBC, no one in the media or government is taking any assertive steps to assess what levels of secrecy have been in place to require these files to have been hidden for so long in the first place. Most of these files are over 50 years old.

The real issue here is not the UFO question – the real issue is why has government secrecy on the UFO matter not been assessed and investigated more thoroughly by the BBC or any other news agency.

Quite frankly, unless the world-wide mainstream media takes its head out of the sand on the matter of UFO secrecy and the fundamental nature of democracy – it won’t matter how many UFO files are released.

It is all very puzzling. Are these international releases of UFO files an attempt to mollify or appease interest in UFO secrecy or to generate a world-wide ground swell of demands to end the secrecy?”

Activist tells President Obama ‘Tear down this wall of UFO Secrecy’

January 6, 2010 Toronto Ontario Canada – (ZNN) It may be a coincidence that Denver Colorado UFO advocate Jeff Peckman and U.S. President Barack Obama shared the David Letterman Late Night Show stage in 2008 - exactly three months apart to the day – Peckman on June 10 and Obama as the Senator from Illinois – on September 10, 2008.

But many believe that it will be no coincidence when UFO activist Jeff Peckman and President Barack Obama will soon share a stage again, not on America’s top late night TV show but in the open court of public opinion when Peckman will ask the US President to “Tear down this wall of UFO secrecy.”

In an open letter to President Obama, Peckman’s well-mannered but exigently crafted dispatch to the President demands just that… an end to UFO secrecy.

This courageous open letter combined with the now famous successful acceptance by Denver city officials of Peckman’s citizens’ Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission ballot initiative sets the stage for a head to head discourse by two very determined men.

The acceptance by Denver city officials of the nearly 4000 signatures in support of Peckman’s Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission creates somewhat of a constitutional dilemma for the President.

Obama, in fact publicly stated in the first days of his Presidency, “The Government should not keep information confidential merely because public officials might be embarrassed by disclosure, because errors and failures might be revealed, or because of speculative or abstract fears.” He also went on to state, “no information may remain classified indefinitely”; with respect to national security - that appropriate officials were to “identify classified information that no longer requires protection and can be declassified.”

If a democratically constituted public ballot plebiscite to establish an Extraterrestrial Affaires Commission in Denver were to be approved, Denver would be the first American city to be able to legitimately challenge national military officials and intelligence agencies on behalf of the American people to release and disclose what officials know about the Extraterrestrial presence as cited in thousands if not millions of pages of government documents, radar reports and witness testimony currently sequestered by military and intelligence groups.

It would virtually necessitate that President Barack Obama make a public statement of some kind that Denver, one of America’s most progressive cities, was now able to inaugurate high level investigations into the overwhelming evidence that some UFOs may indeed represent visitations by off-world civilizations far in advance of our own and that the American government has withheld this information from its people for over 60 years. There may be more than a few in the White House and the Pentagon who may not entirely ignore this matter – in fact there may not be a more consequential global issue facing us and those who we elect to act on our behalf.

Mainstream media might well take a page out of Peckman’s play-book or the American Constitution and begin doing some genuine work on behalf of the democracy they so ardently profess to uphold and defend. In essence Peckman is doing their job by demanding that one year of governing secretly is enough for the still-pioneering President who declares he seeks transparency in the government he now leads.

The letter begins, “Dear Mr. President,
Americans have been imprisoned for over 60 years behind a ‘Berlin wall’ of oppressive lies and secrecy about UFOs and extraterrestrial visitors. Those who dared to escape this prison and expose the truth have been threatened, harassed, assaulted, and worse, by agents of the U.S. Government.”

Perhaps… just perhaps Peckman and Obama’s ensuing public late night appearance might be the next stage of truth that will tear down the wall of UFO secrecy for good.

Denver to Vote on Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission

Toronto, Ontario, Canada, December 16, 2009 – (ZlandCommunications) If there was ever any doubt that Jeff Peckman means business, it has been dispelled by the international and national media coverage his Denver Ballot Initiative on the establishment of an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission has received over the last week.

Sufficient signatures, approaching 4000 were all that was needed to push this matter forward onto the Denver August 10th ballot and into the U.S. national media spotlight. George Noory host of Coast to Coast, boasting a million plus listeners nightly has spoken to Peckman.

Even the New York Times – traditionally averse to things Extraterrestrial - has chimed in.

The momentum surrounding Peckman’s appearance on New York’s own David Letterman show to announce his Denver Ballot Initiative on an ET Affairs Commission is building with tsunami like wave force about to hit one coast or another in the USA.

If Peckman has his way it’ll be both coasts; then coast to coast.

Peckman told ZlandCommunications, “Among the interviews I've done so far during the last week have been, MSNBC, Coast to Coast with George Noory, L.A. Times, New York Times, Denver Post, CBS Ch. 4 in Denver, Alan Colmes (radio), Thom Hartmann (radio), John Gambling (radio WOR in NYC), WGO (San Francisco radio), and next week is Mancow in the Morning (radio -Chicago).”

This deluge of contact with mainstream media has provided the Denver Ballot Initiative Extraterrestrial Affair’s coordinator with the impetus he needs to put his mission under the spotlight of national news.

Peckman went on to say, “These all have large audiences. But I've also heard that the news has been seen and heard elsewhere too such as ABC, NBC, and Fox news. Randomly turning on the TV, I heard the ballot initiative talked about by Anderson Cooper on CNN, again on CNN news at noon, and yesterday my father's friend called to say he heard about it from Rush Limbaugh.”

The cumulative impact of this kind of media attention highlights the essential mission of those advocating for full Disclosure – Earth has been and is being engaged by off-world civilizations, since 1947 and possibly earlier. This appears evident from witness testimony and government files that UFOs (craft of unknown origin) are real and that more than a few high level government officials know these facts have been sequestered for over 60 years.

Peckman feels these matters must be brought to the public’s attention. Case closed.

What remains to be seen over the next several months is how Peckman, with his local and international supporters of the Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission, will influence the voters of Denver.

ABC News Reports 'UFO phenomenon is real' says Apollo Astronaut Edgar Mitchell
Other Major Defense and Intelligence Figures Concur

Toronto, Ontario, Canada August 8, 2009 – A number of respected international figures have now indicated that not only is the phenomenon of UFOs real but government has covered up its reality. Foremost and most recently, Dr. Edgar Mitchell has come forward to unequivocally affirm the reality of an official embargo on the truth of an ET presence and the government’s continued silence.

In an ABC News article Emily Friedman writes that former Apollo astronaut Dr. Edgar Mitchell not only believes that the planet has been visited by extraterrestrial life forms but that the American government has known about it for decades. Friedman writes, “NASA astronaut Edgar Mitchell, a member of the Apollo 14 mission that landed on the moon in 1971, elaborated on his own fluid thoughts on the universe, arguing that alien visits to Earth have been covered up by governments for more than 60 years.”

Friedman goes on to affirm that earlier, during an interview on Britain’s Kerrang Radio, Dr. Mitchell said that he has been informed the UFO phenomenon is authentic.

Mitchell’s Kerrang Radio statement: "I happen to be privileged enough to be in on the fact that we have been visited on this planet and the UFO phenomenon is real," Dr. Mitchell also indicates, "It has been covered up by governments for quite some time now."

This is not the first time a noted North American figure has made such public statements. In September of 2005 former Canadian Minister of Defense and Deputy Prime Minster of Canada the Hon. Paul Hellyer, while addressing an audience at the University of Toronto’s Convocation Hall, said, “UFOs are as real as the airplanes that fly over your head.”

In a 1960’s February 27 New York Times (UPI) article, former Director of the CIA Roscoe Hillenkoetter (Ret) stated, “It is time for the truth to be brought out in open Congressional hearings… behind the scenes, high-ranking Air Force officers are soberly concerned about the UFO’s. But through official secrecy and ridicule, many citizens are led to believe the unknown flying objects are nonsense.” Hillenkoetter further charged, “…that to hide the facts, the Air Force has silenced its personnel.”

This quality and brand of personal authentication, under similar conditions in a court of law, would be unequivocally categorized as heavily weighted ‘expert witness testimony’. Unfortunately, in the court of journalistic assimilation, members of the Fourth Estate are yet to take such authentication seriously. This will soon change in the face of expert corroboration by respected figures.
