The military's proclamation in the next day’s newspapers said – it was just a Weather Balloon. Few understood it at the time but, in less than 24 hours, the trajectory of world history changed… forever - all of it based on a false narrative fabricated by the US government.
The US Air Force then proceeded to wait several decades to brazenly compound their weather balloon false narrative, absurdly suggesting in a 1997 report that 'alien bodies' found at the crash site, "[W]ere actually anthropomorphic test dummies that were carried aloft by U.S. Air Force high altitude balloons for scientific research." (USAF The Roswell Report - Case Closed) This ludicrous 'report' was immediately dismissed by the UFO research community.

Donald R. Schmitt is the former co-director of the J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies, where he served as Director of Special Investigations for ten years. Among Schmitt’s published works are the bestseller, WITNESS TO ROSWELL, which he co-authored with fellow researcher Tom Carey, and COVER-UP AT ROSWELL. He has led and organized the four official archaeological dig projects at the actual Roswell crash/debris field conducted in 1989, 2002, 2006, and 2013.
